Cuban-born artist Lourdes Betancourt studied art in her homeland and in the Soviet Union, and has been a university teacher as well as fine artist. Her pastel series titled "MiCuba," with whimsical depictions of the streets and landscapes of the land of her birth, captured our attention when we were traveling in the Caribbean several years ago. Her color combinations are among the best we've seen in Caribbean art.

We have only a couple remaining pieces of Betancourt's work from the series.
