While in Addis Ababa several years ago, we picked up a number of antique, and some new, Ethiopian Orthodox Icons to add to our collection: hand-carved, hand-painted, primitive-looking pieces. Aesthetically gorgeous, these icons represent an ancient Christian tradition that goes back to biblical times -- remember the reference to the eunuch who served the Ethiopian queen?

We're only picturing a few of these earthy, somewhat primitive images, most of them older rather than new. We have a number of smaller icons with a single door, all very reasonably priced.
